Europe Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie clinched a place at the British Open at St. Andrews in July. Ireland's Shane Lowry won the 96-man qualifying event Monday after shooting 11 under to finish two shots ahead of Andrew Coltart and Montgomerie, who will extend his unbroken run of Open appearances to 21, dating to 1990.
