TV ratings down from last finals Game 6 (AP)



Television ratings for Game 6 of the NBA finals were down from the last one between the Lakers and Celtics, which was also a blowout but crowned a champion. Los Angeles' 89-67 win Tuesday on ABC drew a 12.3 overnight rating, down 4 percent from the 12.8 for Boston's lopsided clinching victory in 2008.

County to be called 'Miami-Wade' in July (AP)



Dwyane Wade is getting his own county. By unanimous vote, Miami-Dade County commissioners declared Tuesday that the area would be known as "Miami-Wade County" from July 1-7, a week that coincides with the start of NBA free agency. The resolution was written "in recognition of all that Dwyane Wade has done for the visibility, stature and national image" of the county.

Bynum limited by troublesome knee in win (AP)



Andrew Bynum finally had to call it quits in the second half against Boston, telling Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson that he couldn't go anymore. "He just said, 'You've got to take me out. I can't run,"' Jackson said. "It was obvious at that point that he couldn't.

Lakers' bench bounces back, keys victory (AP)



This time, Kobe Bryant got plenty of help from his teammates. He and his fellow starters built a double-digit lead in the first quarter and the reserves expanded it from there in an 89-67 victory over the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night, tying the NBA finals at three games apiece. The decisive Game 7 is Thursday night at Staples Center.

Perkins' knee sprain hinders Celtics (AP)

Kerr says he won't return as Suns GM (AP)



Steve Kerr won't return as general manager of the Phoenix Suns, despite building a team that made a surprising run to the NBA's Western Conference finals. Kerr said at a news conference Tuesday that the decision was a personal one. He insisted that reports of a contract disagreement with owner Robert Sarver were untrue.
