Ken Griffey Jr. hit the 574th homer of his career in the sixth inning Friday night, moving the Cincinnati Reds outfielder one ahead of Harmon Killebrew for eighth place on the career list. Griffey's solo shot off left-hander Paul Maholm was his 10th in May, the most in the majors. Griffey has 129 career homers in May, his highest total in any month.
